From Kai Ryssdal on MarketPlace.org: “The Colorado River flows from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado down through Utah and Arizona, along the border with California to the Gulf of California in Mexico. Flow might be too generous a word, actually. Because we use so much of the Colorado’s water in the American Southwest for both irrigation and development, what used to be a river is actually just a trickle by the time it crosses the Mexican border. Some years, it never even reaches the sea.”
These photos that I shot today represent some of the sites I see when I get off the subway on my way to work in the morning. Every time I emerge from the subway, I think to myself, “I’m in New York City! I get to see these sites every day!” Pretty cool way to start the day.
For date night tonight, the hubby and I went out to take night shots. Specifically of the full moon. Below are shots taken with a Nikon D40X at various settings. The final photo is of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge (previously known as the Triboro bridge).

Hubby and I spent a beautiful, sunny day at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. (First visit) Apparently everyone else in NYC had the same idea to go there today, but I managed to avoid the crowd (and crazy number of baby strollers) in my photographs.
Spent the week of Christmas in Dallas with family & friends. Though I had a cold for 3 weeks, it was a still a great time. See slide show below or click on it to see larger version.
Mom is visiting this week and we took an afternoon/evening to hit Rockefeller Center (including the GE Building which houses most of NBC Studios, and “Top of the Rock” on the 70th floor), Times Square, and the outside of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
