Eight years ago, al Qaeda terrorists hijacked airplanes to crash them into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. 2,751 people lost their lives after American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175 crashed into the north and south towers of the World Trade Center. Another 184 victims were killed when American Airlines Flight 77 struck the Pentagon’s west wall. In Shanksville, PA 40 passengers and crew of United Airlines Flight 93 died when the hijacked plane went down in a field there. The passengers and crew, aware of the fate of at least some of the other hijacked planes, fought the men who had taken control of their aircraft, leading to its crash. In total 3,017 people, including 24 presumed dead and 19 hijackers, died in the attacks.
City officials spent 3+ years and a lot of taxpayer dollars to figure out why NYC smells good.
Call me crazy, but shouldn’t taxpayer dollars be spent on more important things like – oh, I don’t know – healthcare and education? I mean, a good smell in NY is breaking news, but still….
Mayor Bloomberg held a press conference where he repeatedly mispronounced the name of the word fenugreek as “fenugeek.”
Kind of odd that a person of Bloomberg’s age, one of the richest men on the planet, and Mayor of NYC apparently never encountered the word fenugreek before. Kind of reminds me of an ex-president who used to say “nucular” instead of nuclear.
